But oh my God, the questions are easy and completely worthless. With a year of training, a 14 year old could do this. Nowadays, at least we don’t have this type of obvious societal segregation.
I have a Delicious account too.
Okay, wow, Dijkstra. And here I thought his algorithm was stupid.
I mean, really. I usually hate talks, and have this great aversion against the “We must do this” / “This is wrong” / “Everybody else sucks” kind of attitude that Dijkstra is presenting here. While I find his consequences a little exaggerated (really, electrical engineering education won’t get any better just because people stop saying “this guy wants to talk to that guy” - incidentally, in Germany they never say that), I think that his main ideas are brilliant. It just happens so incredibly rarely that I am impressed by the statements of a mathematician or an engineer, by an intellectual manifesto like this. (See the TEDtalks which I typically find utterly stupid.) But, Dijkstra, this is truly cool.
And this line is beautiful. “Their willingness to do so is our main safeguard against dictatorships, be they of the proletariat, of the scientific establishment, or of the corporate elite.” It is as if nothing has changed over the last 20+ years.
Items on the menu I have had so far:
1. Korean BBQ Short Rib Beef Tacos
2. Thai Basil Chicken Tacos
3. Edamame Tacos
5. Korean BBQ Short Rib Beef & Kimchi Burrito ($5)
9. BBQ Lemongrass Pork over Rice
14. “O.G.” Dog- all beef hot dog topped with Korean BBQ Short Rib Beef & Kimchi ($5)
I think I want to try their Banh Mi today. :3
This thing has a horribly perverted name, but I think it’s construction is amazingly beautiful. What they need is for a few designer-ish people to take some pretty pictures with nicer lighting - and better sound. :D
What the heck, I don’t even like Kleist XD But… I like the so-called “märkische Landschaft”, have an affinity towards the waters of West Berlin and appreciate how the article approaches the remembrance of a great writer. (Supposedly great writer, what do I know.)
The article makes me want to go to Kleist’s tomb too! XD
Guggle Muggle! It sounds so Austrian? :D
<3 Yeah yeah, it’s a Spiegel Online article, but <3
